$10,000 BACCALAUREATE DEGREES
In 2014, St. Johns River State College accepted Governor Rick Scott’s “$10,000 Degree Challenge.” In support of the Governor’s higher education affordability challenge, the College is offering three baccalaureate degrees at the $10K rate.
Eligible SJR State bachelor's degrees:
- Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education
- Bachelor of Applied Science in Organizational Management
- Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, Applied Intelligence Studies
SJR State’s $10,000 bachelor's degree program is a 2+2-style program. Students who meet the requirements will receive a tuition waiver or scholarship for their last 20 credits during their final two semesters, reducing the total cost to less than $10,000.
The $10,000 cost does not include special fees, lab fees, textbooks, credit hours outside of a student’s program of study, prep or repeat courses, or other associated program costs which are the responsibility of the student.
$10K Admissions Requirements:
- Be classified as a Florida resident
- Earn a minimum of 15 credits through advance placement, international baccalaureate, or dual enrollment courses while in high school; or through transfer or otherwise earned credit
- Have an earned Associates degree
- Formally apply and meet all admissions criteria for the applicable bachelor's degree
Once admitted to the Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, Applied Intelligence Studies, BS in Early Childhood Education or the BAS in Organizational Management program, to remain eligible to participate and receive the tuition waiver during the final semesters, students must:
- Maintain continuous full-time enrollment in their bachelor’s degree program (12 or more credit hours each Fall and Spring term)
- Successfully complete a minimum of 30 credit hours per academic year in the bachelor's degree program
- meet all program continuation requirements on schedule. Education students must have passed all parts of the General Knowledge test before earning 33 upper division education credits.
- Maintain an overall 3.2 GPA or higher, to include all Associates, Bachelors, and transfer coursework
- Must have a current completed FAFSA
