Public Schools

At St. Johns River State College, we’re committed to empowering students on their academic journey through dual enrollment opportunities. Whether you're in Clay, Putnam, or St. Johns County, our program provides access to college-level courses while still in high school, giving you a head start on your college education.

Step 1 – Print and Complete the Homeschool Packet Checklist
Print this checklist to track the required documents for admissions. Check off each box and attach the corresponding document as you complete each step. Once all boxes are checked, sign the checklist to confirm that all documents are included. Submit this signed checklist as the cover sheet with all the documents listed in Step 7. Do not send documents separately; submit everything together as one packet. Incomplete packets will not be processed.

Step 2 - Submit the Online Dual Enrollment Application
Complete the online SJR State Dual Enrollment application. Access the Guide To Apply Online. During the application process, print out the Dual Enrollment Consent Form. Ensure that your parents signs on the designated "high school counselor" signature line. Note your X number from the final screen for future reference.

Step 3 - Provide Test Scores
Submit a copy of your placement test scores. Accepted tests include the ACT, SAT, PERT, PSAT, or CLT. If you have not taken any of these tests, schedule the PERT through the SJR State Testing Center. Do not have the scores sent directly to the college. Test scores are used for Math and English placement, and no specific scores are required for admissions. For more testing information, visit our Testing Information link.

Step 4 - Complete the Homeschool Verification Form
Register with your county’s school district as a homeschool student. Fill out the top half of the home school verification form. The bottom portion must be completed and signed by the county representative:
Clay County: Jessica Pajuelo
Putnam County: Mary Wood
St. Johns County: HomeEd@stjohns.k12.fl.us
** If your student was awarded the PEP Scholarship, please provide the award information in the bottom portion of the form. **

Step 8: Complete the Online Orientation through Canvas
Once your MySJRstate account is set up, access the Canvas platform to complete the online New Student Orientation. You will find this orientation under the "Courses" section in Canvas. Ensure you complete this orientation as it provides important information and requirements for your dual enrollment experience.

Step 9: Complete the SJR State Dual Enrollment Registration Form
After you have completed the online orientation (step 8), please complete the SJR State Dual Enrollment Registration Form. You will need your SJR State X number for this form. Parent signatures are required on the “high school counselor” signature lines. Submit this form to Michele Menadue at for final review. Please note that due to the volume of Dual Enrollment students needing to be processed, your schedule will not reflect immediately after submitting your registration form.

Step 10: Verify and Adjust Your Student Schedule
Check your Concise Student Schedule under the Student tab in your MySJRstate account to ensure its accuracy. If there are any errors or missing courses, email with your SJR State X number and details of the issue. Emails without specific course information will not receive a response due to volume.

Step 11: Obtain Textbooks
Textbooks are provided through the SJR State Bookstore. Bring a printed copy of your schedule to the bookstore to collect your textbooks. You must sign a rental agreement, agreeing to return the textbooks by the semester’s end. Failure to return textbooks may result in fines, removal from future courses, or removal from the dual enrollment program. Textbooks/materials/access codes cannot be picked up until you have attended at least one class.

Step 12: Arrange Student Accommodations (if needed)
To receive accommodations at SJR State, visit the nearest Advising Center and work with the Disabilities Coordinator to determine if services can be provided. For more information, visit SJR State College Disability Services.
