If you're a high school student in Clay, Putnam, or St. Johns County, now is the time to plan for your future. St. Johns River State College’s Dual Enrollment program lets you earn free college credits while completing your high school diploma.
Take college-level courses, gain a head start on your education, and set yourself up for success—all while still in high school!

CHOOSE YOUR PATH:

Dual Enrollment
Take college courses while in high school and earn credit for both high school and college.

  • Max Credits: Work with your high school counselor for college courses you can be successful toward completion of you high school diploma as well as college credit.
  • Goal: Get a head start on college or follow the A.A. Degree Pathway.

Early Admission
For high school juniors & seniors ready to go all-in on college.

  • Full-time enrollment: 12–16 college credits per fall and spring term
  • No high school classes, college only!

Early College Program
(A.A. Degree Track) – Limited Access through your school district.
Earn your high school diploma & Associate of Arts A.A. Degree in four years.

  • Available at select high schools through your county school district.
  • Limited acceptance, check eligibility requirements at your high school.

COMPONENTS OF THE CLAY COUNTY EARLY COLLEGE PROGRAM:

  • Students can earn an A.A. degree while still enrolled in high school.
  • Students in grades 9 -11 in Clay County will take a defined list of college courses at the high school site in combination with high school classes, and online classes with SJR State College.
  • 12th grade students will enroll full time on SJR State’s campus.

ELIGIBILITY:

  • Clay County - Eligible students must have a minimum 8th grade GPA of 3.0 in core academic coursework and have a minimum high school GPA of a 3.0 for high school classes such as Algebra 1, Geometry or Spanish
  • Participation in Dual Enrollment in Florida requires a minimum of 3.0 un-weighted high school GPA.
  • Criteria for students selected to receive an invitation to the information sessions:
  • Having a minimum 8th grade GPA of 3.0 in core academic coursework, and
  • Having a minimum high school GPA of a 3.0 for high school classes such as Algebra I, Geometry, or Spanish.
  • Eligibility dependent upon final 8th grade end of year GPA
  • Eligible students who apply by the deadline will be entered into a lottery. Drawing to be done by a Clay County Representative.
  • All selected students will be notified of acceptance through the email listed on the lottery application.
