EQUIVALENCY OF TRAINING (EOT)

Obtain certification as an officer in Florida without first attending (or re-attending) a full basic recruit academy in Florida.

Please note: The St Johns River State College Criminal Justice Center offers Equivalency of Training classes. However, we are not an Equivalency of Training selection center. Before registering for an EOT class, you must first obtain your CJSTC Equivalency of Training form 76 from a Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) recognized selection center or from an employing agency. Once it has been approved and entered into Florida’s Automated Training Management System (ATMS), you may then register for EOT classes offered at SJR State.

Recent changes have been made to the EOT course. Please contact the SJR State Criminal Justice Center at (904) 808-7491 for updated cost and course information.

FDLE Approved Selection Centers list

Once you have received your CJSTC Equivalency of Training Form 76 from a selection center, you may register for an SJR State EOT class by completing the two-page application and submitting the following documents:

  • A signed and notarized copy of the driver’s license affidavit
  • A signed and notarized copy of the participation affidavit
  • A signed and notarized copy of the CJSTC Form 58 background waiver
  • A copy of your completed EOT Form 76
  • A copy of the approval letter or email from the approving selection center

Links to the application and these documents are provided on this page. We look forward to seeing you in one of our future EOT classes and assisting in your transition to a law enforcement career in the state of Florida.

Download the EOT documents and follow the instructions.
We offer classes several times throughout the year. Law enforcement officer classes consist of 72 hours.
The correctional officer classes (when offered) consist of 30 hours.
