SJR State presents a “Lunch & Learn” hydroponics presentation
St. Johns River State College will hold a presentation on small scale hydroponics Tuesday, November 30 from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. on the Palatka campus. The event is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to bring their lunch or order from the campus food service, the LunchBox.
Hydroponics is a method of gardening that does not utilize soil. It is a versatile method to grow many different vegetables and herbs, and it can be modified to grow food in many different situations. Guest speaker Julio Perez, a horticulture agent with the University of Florida, will provide an overview of small-scale (home) hydroponics, including ways to construct your own home (or apartment) hydroponic system. A Q&A will follow.
The presentation is an initiative of the Tree Campus program and will be held in room V125 in the Viking Center.
