SJR State hosts annual Viking 5K
PALATKA, FL (March 21, 2023) – More than 80 participants, ranging in ages 6 to 93, participated in St. Johns River State College’s annual Viking 5K held Saturday, March 25 on the Palatka Campus.
Running the chip-timed race, Zak’ri Borom, 23, of Palatka, took the top male spot at 22:02.
Jodie Shugart, 34, of Palm Coast, ran her way to the top female spot at 27:38.
The youngest runner to finish in first place was Gavin Bantle, 10 at 26:07.
Tiles were presented for first and second place male and female winners in all age divisions.
Funds raised from the event help support SJR State’s athletic programs and student-athletes.
Event sponsors were WastePro, 386 Nutrition, and Oliver Oaks and Vines.
