SJR State, community partners present South Putnam education fair
South Putnam residents can learn what career-related opportunities and resources are available for the new year at an education fair presented by St. Johns River State College on Thursday, Dec. 7. Held at the Crescent City Jr.-Sr. High School from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., the event is free and open to the public and will highlight various technical and healthcare programs that can prepare students for the workforce in two years or less.
Community partners will also be available to discuss additional resources, financial aid/scholarship opportunities for eligible students and their dependents. Partners include:
- The Farmworker Career Development program
- Goodwill/A-Step
- Take Stock in Children
- CareerSource
Spanish/English interpreters will also be available.
The festive event includes games, snacks/treats, door prizes, and information on:
GED opportunities, dual enrollment (free college classes for eligible high school students), and more. Additional programs to be highlighted include manufacturing, heavy equipment operator, and CDL Class A & B drivers, to fast-track bootcamps to help launch careers in tech.
