SJR State to honor graduates December 14
SJR State Alumna Roshonda Phillips is the commencement speaker.
St. Johns River State College will celebrate its fall commencement on December 14. The College will acknowledge the associate and baccalaureate degree candidates, as well as its certificate candidates, from the Orange Park, Palatka and St. Augustine campuses.
The ceremony is set for 10:00 a.m. at the Thrasher-Horne Center located on the SJR State Orange Park campus. Tickets are required for graduate guests. The event will be live-streamed through the College’s YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/user/SJRstate.
SJR State President Joe Pickens, J.D., has announced Putnam County native and SJR State Alumna Roshonda Phillips as the commencement speaker. Phillips is the recent recipient of the LeRoy Collins Distinguished Alumni Award presented by the Association of Florida Colleges. She holds a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Jacksonville University and is the National Program Manager for the Department of Veteran Affairs Central Office. Previous roles include chief nurse for quality improvement and nursing excellence at James A. Haley Veterans Hospital in Tampa, as well as various teaching positions, and global medical mission trips that serve underprivileged women and children.
