Vikings play at home for World Series spot May 12 - 14

After winning their first Region 8 Division II junior college baseball “state” championship, the St. Johns River State College Vikings baseball team will play for a spot in the NJCAA Division 2 College World Series this weekend at the SJR State Palatka Campus (Tindall Field) in a best-of-3 series against Region 10 champion Lenoir Community College of North Carolina.

Game 1 is Friday, May 12 at 6 p.m.
Game 2 is Saturday, May 13 at 2 p.m.
Game 3 (if tied) Sunday, May 14 at 1 p.m.

State Representative and former Viking baseball player Bobby Payne will throw out the first pitch for Friday’s game.
Former Viking pitcher Tommy Strickland will throw out the first pitch for Saturday’s game. Mr. Strickland pitched the Viking’s first game in 1963!  

The winner of this weekend’s super regional showdown will advance to the NJCAA Division 2 College World Series in Oklahoma, May 27 – June 3.

Pets and outside refreshments are not allowed at Tindall Field.

High school baseball teams from Clay, Putnam and St. Johns counties will be admitted to the games for free.
Admission is $7. SJR State employees/students are free with College ID.
