Vikings win back-to-back state championships

For the second year in a row, the St. Johns River State College Vikings are Region 8 Division II junior college baseball state champs!
With an 11-8 victory over South Florida State College on Sunday, the SJR State baseball team won its back-to-back Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) championship.
The team will host the National Junior College Athletic Association NJCAA DII South District Championship beginning Friday, May 10 on the Tindall Field at the SJR State Palatka Campus.
Game 1 is Friday, May 10 at 6 p.m.
Game 2 is Saturday, May 11 at 2 p.m.
Game 3 (if tied) Sunday, May 12 at 1 p.m.
General admission is $7.
High school baseball teams from Clay, Putnam and St. Johns counties will be admitted to the games for free.
SJR State employees/students are free with College ID.

The winner of this weekend’s super regional showdown will advance to the NJCAA Division 2 College World Series in Enid, Oklahoma May 25 – June 1.
