SJR State to honor graduates May 3
State Representative Tom Leek is the Spring commencement speaker.
St. Johns River State College will celebrate its spring commencement on May 3. The College will acknowledge the associate and baccalaureate degree candidates, as well as its certificate candidates, from the Orange Park, Palatka and St. Augustine campuses.
The ceremony is set for 10:00 a.m. at the Thrasher-Horne Center located on the SJR State Orange Park campus. Tickets are required for graduate guests. The event will be live-streamed through the College’s YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/user/SJRstate.
SJR State President Joe Pickens, J.D., has announced State Representative Tom Leek as the commencement speaker. Leek currently serves District 28. He is the Chief Legal Officer and Executive Vice President of Foundation Risk Partners, Corp., a national insurance brokerage. He joined the company in 2018, after a 21-year career at the law firm of Cobb Cole in Daytona Beach, where he led the firm as managing partner.
The Thrasher-Horne Center is owned and operated by SJR State and is located on the Orange Park campus at 283 College Drive.
