SJR State law enforcement cadets recognized

Sarah MacClellan and Samuel Lafferty receive awards

SJR State criminal justice instructor John Donlon presents Sarah MacClellan with the Academic Achiever award for the highest GPA and Samuel Lafferty with the Most Proficient in Firearms award.

Cadets from the St. Johns River State College Criminal Justice Academy were recently recognized for completing the Florida Law Enforcement Academy program.

The guest speaker was Sheriff H.D. “Gator” Deloach of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office.

During the ceremony, Sarah MacClellan received the Academic Achiever award for the highest GPA. Samuel Lafferty received the Most Proficient in Firearms award.

The graduates include Vincent Cheng, Torrey Cox, D'Avanzo Edmondo, Richard Ferrando, Erin Finnegan, Matthew Fuhr, Luke Gerber, Shawn Green, Greger Tenley, Jack Halstead, Jamal Hampton, Colby Hancock, Ryan Holler, Uzoma Humes, Peyton Labelle, Samuel Lafferty, Joseph Lowery, Sarah MacClellan, Alan Martin, Angel Otero-Cruz, Anthony Ransom-Casin, Peter Rice, John Riley, Colin Robins, Reagan Romig, Bryce Swall, William Stockling, Jason Walsh, Sofia Wharton, Michael Wilcox, Alexis Williams and Jamal Williams.

Located at the St. Augustine campus, SJR State’s Criminal Justice Academy provides job-related training to prepare cadets for entry-level employment in the field. Upon completion of the certificate programs, cadets will be eligible to take the state certification exam. The certificates also provide credit hours that can be transferred to SJR State’s associate in science degree in criminal justice technology.
