SJR State Program Excellence
Criminal Justice Academy
Respiratory Care program
SJR State students once again exceed the passing rates on their state and national exams in crucial workforce areas. The commitment to provide exceptional programs at St. Johns River State College is evident among our administrators, faculty and industry partners. These recognitions are a much-deserved honor for our dedicated students and for our faculty members who go above and beyond their role as educators.
NURSING
SJR State Nursing (ASN) students have surpassed the state and national passing rates for the RN licensure exam with a 97.6% passing rate. The national average passing rate for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) is 92.9%. The state average is 87.79%.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE
The Criminal Justice Academy’s two most recent classes have completed their state certification exams, exceeding the state average again! The corrections class achieved a 100% passing rate on their first attempt. The law enforcement class achieved a 97% passing rate. The state average is 79.31%
RESPIRATORY CARE
The respiratory care program was recently awarded the Distinguished RRT Credentialing Success Award. In selecting programs for this recognition, the CoARC Board used objective criteria based on key accreditation metrics documented in the 2023 Annual Report of Current Status (RCS). These programs were required to: (1) have three or more years of outcomes data; (2) hold accreditation without a progress report at the end of the year; (3) document RRT credentialing success of 90% or above, and (4) meet or exceed established CoARC thresholds for TMC high cut score and retention.
The program has been awarded either the Distinguished RRT Credentialing Success Award or the Presidential RRT Credentialing Success Award for the eighth time.
