Vikings return home after valiant effort

After a valiant effort in their second consecutive attempt at the national championship, the St. Johns River State College baseball team fell against top-seeded LSU Eunice Friday night in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II World Series.

The Vikings (42-25) played like champions to the very end in the final four bracket, falling short in the bottom of the ninth inning in Enid, Oklahoma.

The SJR State college community is proud of its history-making team. The Vikings first made history in 2023 when the team, led by head coach Ross Jones, clinched its first NJCAA South Atlantic Super Regional championship and appearance at the 2023 World Series.

May 30: SJR State 8, LSU Eunice 7
