Dual Enrollment
PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY AND TESTING
Program Eligibility
To participate in Dual Enrollment, Early Admission, or the Early College Program at SJR State, students must:
- Be enrolled in a Florida public or private secondary school or home education program in Clay, Putnam, or St. Johns Counties.
- Have a minimum 3.0 unweighted high school GPA.
- Submit placement test scores (ACT, SAT, or PERT) taken within the last two years (Florida Statute 1008.30). Qualifying scores are required for English/Communications and Mathematics courses. For ENC 1101, both reading and writing scores are needed.
- Courses not requiring specific test scores (except for English and Math) only need submitted scores, without a required minimum.
Testing
To start Dual Enrollment, students must provide recent test scores (PERT, Pre-ACT, ACT, PSAT, or SAT) per Florida law. College-ready scores are needed for English/Communications and Mathematics courses. ENC 1101 requires both reading and writing scores, which may come from different tests.
If you haven’t taken the required tests, you can schedule the PERT at on of SJR State's Testing Centers.
