Dual Enrollment
Dual Enrollment Petitions and Appeals
(Dual Enrollment petitions and appeals are different from Academic Affairs petitions and appeals.)
Dual enrollment students who receive a “D,” “F,” or “W” must complete the online petition for Dual Enrollment (DE) to remain in the program. Petitions are also required if a student’s high school GPA falls below 3.0 or their college GPA drops below 2.0. Students are allowed only one petition during their DE career, with stipulations typically applying. If a second unacceptable grade is received, students are automatically removed from the program. Any appeals against this action would be submitted to the Director of Dual Enrollment.
It’s recommended to submit (petitions) policy exemption requests at the end of the semester.
Academic Affairs Petitions Process
Students can request exceptions to college policies or address academic concerns through an appeal process. To begin, submit a detailed letter to the Office of Student Affairs explaining the reason for the request. Appeals may relate to denied admission, academic suspension, or course grade issues. Depending on the case, it may be resolved administratively or referred to a committee. The committee’s recommendation is forwarded to the College President for a final decision. The Office of Student Affairs will then notify the student of the outcome. Academic Appeals Form (PDF)
